GENERAL QUESTIONS
---------------------------------------------
Q: What is this place?
A: This is a message board for all Beatles fans to talk and interact on. The board is also a part of the Beatles fansite, soon to be Let It Beatle
Q: Do I have to register to post?
A: Currently, the board is set so that guests may REPLY to current threads; however, you must register to start new threads. You also need to register if you want to send private messages to people. Another benefit of registering is that you secure your username and nobody else can use it.
Q: If I want to start a new topic, how do I know which section to put it in?
A: On the main page of the forums, you can find descriptions of what each individual forum is about. It's pretty straightforward.
Q: I'm getting this page that says "Too many connections." What's the deal with that?
A: Because Proboards hosts multiple boards on each server, sometimes the servers just get too busy. If you get that message, PLEASE wait the 30 seconds before you try refreshing the page. If the servers didn't take a break, they could crash. And that would be bad.
Q: Can I be a moderator?
A: Absolutely! We are currently looking for help running the forum. Please post in the Moderators thread on the Tell Me What You See forum.
Q: Can I use profanity?
A: I turned off the censorship filter because I've seen it do wacky things on other Proboards (you can't use the word cucumber, for one). Personally, I don't mind a little casual swearing... but if I see you using it to insult someone or be really vulgar, I'll step in and do something about it. I really don't want to have to turn that filter on, so let's try to keep it relatively clean.
Q: I can't reply to a thread. What's going on?
A: Check to see if the topic isn't locked. If it isn't, please post in the "Help!" forum about it. We've had this problem once before.
Q: What are member groups and what's the meaning of the stars under people's names?
A: The member groups and stars signify how many posts a person has. The following member groups are defined:
0-49 posts: Nowhere Man (1 star)
50-99 posts: Fool On The Hill (2 stars)
100-249 posts: Day Tripper (3 stars)
250-499 posts: Paperback Writer (4 stars)
500+ posts: Taxman (5 stars)
1000+ posts: custom user title (6 stars) [see the Custom Titles thread for more information.
There are also special member groups for the staff members:
Administrator: Her Majesty (5 red stars)
Moderator: Dr. Robert (5 green stars)
*Note: The Dr. Robert title and green stars only show up next to the moderator's posts on the forum that s/he moderates.
Q: What if I'm having problems with another member?
A: PLEASE try and send the person a private message discussing why you feel upset. If that doesn't work, you can PM me and we'll try to work something out.
Q: How do I put a picture in my signature?
A: You can use the standard image code to put a picture in your signature:
[ img ]url of picture[ /img ]
^edit out the spaces

Q: How do I post pictures from a website?
A: First, get the URL or address of the picture (e.g. www.fan-sites.org/the-beatles/multimedia/avatars/100_john7.gif) by right clicking on the picture you want, going to properties and copying the whole URL or address.
Whether you're inserting it into your signature, or into a message, it's the same code. To insert a picture just type:

Type your text or coding, highlight it, and then click this button:
Q: How do I make a picture click-able (That is when you click on it, it goes to a certain site)
A: You type - [*url=Url or adress here[*img]Url of picture here[*/img][/*url]

A: It means the thread stays on top of the board and doesn't move down when members post in other threads.

A: You do [*size=#][*/size]
(without the stars) to get a bigger font. Just change the # to the size you want.
